Can I be honest with you? I was not expecting to like Cantu Shea Butter For Natural Hair! But as the month went on and I continued to use their Complete Conditioning Co-Wash and Leave-In Conditioner I have found myself so happy with the results.
Here’s the story...
Each month as a part of my Kinky Curly Afro Diary I choose a new natural hair products line to try. I use their Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave-In Conditioner.
No matter which new brand I’m trying for the month I always seal the moisture in my hair using Queen Sunshine Naturals Cutie Juice Cocktail and Premium Whipped Shea Butter.
I always apply products in the following order:
Shampoo
Conditioner
Leave-In Conditioner
Cutie Juice Cocktail
Premium Whipped Shea Butter
Once my hair is properly moisturized and sealed, I twist my hair to set it. I wrap my hair in a satin or silk bonnet or scarf and allow it to dry at least 12 hours. I usually do this in the early evening so my hair completely dries by the following morning.
This month, after hearing great things from fellow Natural Hair Rockstars I decided to revisit Cantu. Several years ago I tried their products and had a poor experience. But the positive reviews I have gotten from friends and successful naturals made me believe this time could be different.
Plus, with Cantu being so moderately priced and easily accessible I felt it would be great to let other Natural Hair Rockstars know if it was worth their time and investment.
When I went to my local Dollar General to purchase the product line, I was disappointed to see they only had the Cantu Shea Butter For Natural Hair Complete Conditioning Co-Wash . The shampoo and conditioner was sold out. I paired it with the Cantu Shea Butter For Natural Hair Leave-In Conditioning Cream.
This is what my hair looked like after following my regular routine utilizing these products! My hair was soft, shiny and felt protected as I installed my twists and as I took them down.
I was pleasantly surprised to have Day 1 Hair with such definition. I was also excited to be able to wear my hair in this “down” style on Day 1.
Overall, my first impressions of Cantu Shea Butter For Natural Hair Collection is positive. I would recommend the products to any Queen Sunshine Naturals customers who are looking for a shampoo, conditioner and leave-in to pair with their Cutie Juice Cocktail and Premium Whipped Shea Butter.
